All about the Classic Guilin Day Tour.

The Classical Guilin Day Tour is perfect for visitors interested in experiencing a diverse range of attractions and activities during a private tour around Guilin City. During this Guilin day tour, the following attractions and places will be visited with your very own private tour guide escorting you to each attraction.

The Reed Flute Cave is a famous cave located on the outskirts of Guilin City. Walking through the serried stone pillars within the cave, visitors feast their eyes on the various stalactites and stalagmites that are illuminated by coloured lighting. This is a famous cave and considered a must-see for all visitors travelling to Guilin who are seeking to experience the most popular things to do in Guilin.

Yao Mountain offers visitors to its peak the highest viewpoint in and around Guilin City. Featuring fantastic 180 degree views overlooking Guilin City, the Li River and the surrounding karst scenery, ascending the mountain is relaxing and easy via the chairlift system. From the base of the mountain to the peak, a slow-moving chairlift transports visitors and at the peak of the mountain, the views are plentiful! An option to take the toboggan from the mid-point of the mountain to the base is also available for an additional fee and can be arranged by the tour guide on the day.

Daxu Old Town is located on the banks of the Li River, South of Guilin City. Daxu has a history dating back over 1,000 years with the town originally being built for trade purposes during the Northern Song Dynasty (from 960 – 1126). It’s considered to be the most famous and recognized ancient towns within Guangxi Province and provides visitors a brief insight into Ancient China during a Guilin tour.

Elephant Trunk Hill is Guilin’s most famous landmark located in the heart of the city and is considered the symbol of Guilin. It is located at the junction of the Li River & Peach Blossom River in Guilin city. Named Elephant Trunk Hill because of the shape of the hill (it looks like a giant elephant drinking from the Li River), no visitor can travel to Guilin and miss this worldwide renowned attraction.

The Classic Guilin Private Guilin Day Tour will commence with a pick-up from your Guilin City hotel at 9:00 am. Being a private tour, there is flexibility with start time with the possibility of starting the day earlier or later in the morning. When you complete the tour booking, please advise us of your preferred time to commence the private day tour and this can be accommodated.

Following pick-up from your Guilin Hotel, you’ll begin the tour by being transferred directly to the Reed Flute Cave, located on the outskirts of Guilin City. Upon arriving at the cave, your tour guide will escort you to a special entrance on the second floor and privately guide you through the cave, away from the big tour groups. The Reed Flute Cave features some spectacular limestone cave scenery and most visitors take approximately 1 x hour within the cave.

Visitors are required to walk through the cave and should be comfortable with steps (walking up and down stairs), otherwise, there are sedan chair porters available for an additional fee (if you’d like to sit on a chair and be carried through the cave).
Thereafter, depart Reed Flute Cave and travel approximately 20 minutes to Guilin’s largest accessible peak – Yao Mountain. This Mountain offers incredibly beautiful views of Guilin City’s karst formations on the horizon, city buildings spread among the mountains and the winding Li River through Guilin city.

To commence your ascent you’ll board a chairlift at the base of Yao Mountain to its peak, spend some time at the viewpoint and then have the option to take a toboggan from the midpoint of Yao Mountain back to the base (for an additional fee). Otherwise, the chairlift option is included for both ascending and descending the mountain.
For lunch, a tasty Chinese lunch at a local restaurant is included where your guide will assist you with ordering and food recommendations based upon your preferences. The restaurant is a popular choice among locals and visitors alike, offering a range of different flavours and foods to enjoy.

In the afternoon, you’ll be transferred to the Ancient Town of Daxu – a picturesque historical town located along the banks of the Li River. Imagine yourself being back in time at this small trading town as you walk along its cobbled streets surrounded by old buildings. Visitors have the option to visit inside a local family’s traditional house for a small donation to the family.

Thereafter, depart Daxu and return to Guilin City, where it’s most famous landmark awaits – Elephant Trunk Hill. The symbol of Guilin and Southern China’s karst scenery, Elephant Trunk Hill towers from the Li River and represents an Elephant and its trunk drinking from the river. No visit to Guilin is complete without a visit to Elephant Trunk Hill!
Following the visit to Elephant Trunk Hill, visitors have the option for a city lakes walking tour including the Riyue Shuangta Cultural Park and its Pagodas (no additional fee) or to board the Four Lakes Night Cruise (additional fee) on an hour-long cruise around all of Guilin’s city lakes. At the conclusion of the tour, visitors will be transferred back to their Guilin Hotel to end the tour.
